Advanced English speaking guides that were professional, knowledgeable, and helpful even beyond the call of duty. I tripped and scraped my arm when about to tour the Great Wall. Instead of just letting me wash it off and go, our guide took me to a desk where they had a first aid kit. He put disinfectant and lots of bandaids on it himself (about an 8 inch wound) before proceeding with our tour. I was so grateful. Each driver was safe and had a clean car. They all helped us get to our train/plane as opposed to just dropping us off at the station where we cannot read the signs. When we arrived at the next destination, our next guide was waiting right at the exit to take us on the next leg of our journey. Everything was simple, friendly, and wonderful. They answered all kinds of questions about what we were seeing and their culture so that we had an enjoyable and informative vacation. I would highly recommend Wendy Lee.Collapse

At the same time, the guides were knowledgable and gave us many insights and knowledge of the history of each location/ sight-seeing location that we went. Our trip was a 9-day Xi'An, Luoyang & Beijing tour. We were glad that we got to see many amazing places and learnt so much about them. I would personally recommend contacting Travel China Guide for your local tour needs. We had Carol as the guide in Xi'An, Cissy in Luoyang and David in Beijing. All in their own respective city had extensive knowledge about the history and places that we went.Collapse

Waking up to the smell of spicy hotpot in the air, wandering through the tree-lined streets of Jinli, sipping tea in a centuries-old teahouse while listening to locals chat… it felt like stepping into a warm, lively story. But the highlight? The pandas. Oh, those fluffy giants! Watching a baby panda roll around in the grass, munching bamboo like it’s the best snack on earth—my heart practically melted. I stood there grinning like a kid, snapping photos (though none capture their magic). It’s a moment I’ll replay forever. In Beijing, the kids actually put down their tablets to chase stray cats in the hutongs, while my parents chatted with a street vendor about old times. The Forbidden City was grand, but those little moments felt more real. Xi’an’s terracotta army surprised us. We thought it’d be “just old statues,” but hearing how each soldier was crafted differently made the kids lean in, asking questions. Even my grumpy teen admitted, “That’s pretty cool.” Guilin was the relaxer. Floating down the Li River, no rush, just pointing out hills that looked like elephants or camels. The kids argued over who saw a fish first, and my wife and I sipped tea, quiet. It wasn’t all “magic”—we got lost once, and the food was spicy (too spicy for the kids). But that’s what made it ours. A trip that didn’t just show us China, but gave us stories to laugh about at dinners for years. Thanks for that.Collapse

Shanghai’s nuts too—those skyscrapers? Wow. We ate dumplings on the street, hot and steamy, messy fingers but big grins. Harbin, though? The ice sculptures glowed at night, like a frozen fairyland. The kids slid on the ice rink until their cheeks were red, and grandma even tried—almost fell, but we caught her. This trip? Not just pretty views. It’s the laughter, the messy meals, the “oops” moments. China’s cool. Real cool. We’re gonna talk about this for years.Collapse

During this trip to Southwest China, I specially set aside a day to join this company’s Day-trips. After referring to the positive reviews on Tripadvisor, I really made the right choice! Guide Sister Chen is a native of Chongqing; she speaks fluent Chinese and simple Malay, so my Malaysian friend and I had no communication barriers. The trip started at Hongyadong. Sister Chen told us that the design of Hongyadong was inspired by Chongqing’s stilt houses, and when the lights are on at night, it looks like a scene from “Spirited Away”—we waited until evening on purpose, watching the stilt houses slowly lit up by lights under the sunset, really like stepping into an animated world! Later, we went to Liberation Monument; she explained Chongqing’s anti-Japanese war history, and took us to an old noodle shop hidden in an alley. The recommended Chongqing noodles with peanut butter were spicy and rich in flavor, much more authentic than the Chongqing noodles I ate in Malaysia! In the afternoon, when taking the Yangtze River Cableway, Sister Chen bought tickets for us in advance, avoiding the trouble of waiting in line for two hours. On the cableway, she pointed out the river view of Chongqing and the scattered high-rise buildings, letting me truly understand the meaning of “mountain city.” The biggest surprise was that she also took us to experience Chongqing’s “ear cleaning”—the tingling and numb feeling was so comfortable! The whole itinerary was compact but not rushed, with enough time to take photos and experience each attraction. Sister Chen also took group photos for us proactively and taught us how to take the best photos of Hongyadong with our mobile phones. After returning to Malaysia, I shared photos of Chongqing on Moments; many friends asked me how to arrange the itinerary, and I directly sent them the link to this Day-trips. If I come to Chongqing again next time, I want to try their Tailor Make Itinerary to explore more niche attractions in depth!Collapse

Guide Xiao Yang speaks fluent Indonesian and Arabic; he confirmed the needs with me 1 week in advance: to avoid crowds, he arranged the Terracotta Army itinerary at 8 a.m.; considering the 5 daily prayers, he reserved 30 minutes of prayer time in the itinerary and checked the mosques near each attraction for us (such as “Lintong Mosque” next to the Terracotta Army). When visiting Shaanxi History Museum, Xiao Yang explained Tang Dynasty cultural relics in Indonesian, such as the “Silk Road story” behind the tri-color glazed camel figurine—even my 10-year-old daughter listened intently and actively asked, “How did people in the Tang Dynasty trade with Indonesia?” We had no worries about food at all: at “Laosun’s Halal Restaurant” arranged by Xiao Yang, he would break the steamed bread for us for the lamb soup with steamed bread, and match it with non-spicy chili sauce; in the Tang Dynasty Never-Sleeping City, he took us to a halal food stall to buy “beef roujiamo” (beef sandwich), and my daughter ate two and still wanted more. The itinerary also thoughtfully added a “in-depth tour of Huimin Street,” but avoided commercial sections and took us to “Xiyangshi” where locals often go to buy halal mung bean cakes as souvenirs—affordable and authentic. The most touching part was the details: knowing we are used to drinking warm water, Xiao Yang brought a thermos every day; when my daughter had a fever, he immediately took us to a nearby Muslim hospital and helped translate the condition; on the last day of the trip, he also helped us book a “halal Sichuan opera” performance and chose programs without pork elements. After returning to Indonesia, I wrote a PRODUCT REVIEW in the Muslim travel blogger community, and many fans asked me for the customization link—this Tailor Make Itinerary allows us to feel the history without worrying about faith and life needs at all!Collapse

When I searched for City Packages on Trustpilot, this company’s 4.9-star rating and detailed reviews caught my eye—many travelers mentioned “well-balanced itineraries” and “local food recommendations,” so I booked it without hesitation. The 3-day package covered all the highlights I wanted: Chengdu Panda Base, Kuanzhai Alleys, Jinli Ancient Street, and even a Sichuan Opera show. On the first day, we went to the Panda Base early, and our guide, A Ling, told us the best spots to see pandas eating bamboo—we were lucky enough to watch a baby panda climb a tree, which was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! A Ling also explained the panda conservation efforts in China, which made me appreciate these lovely creatures even more. In the afternoon, we visited Kuanzhai Alleys; she took us to a traditional teahouse where we tried “Gaiwancha” (covered-bowl tea) and watched a Sichuan opera face-changing performance. The artist even invited me on stage to learn a simple face-changing move—it was so fun! The food part was definitely the highlight. A Ling knew I don’t eat too spicy, so she recommended milder Sichuan dishes like “Mapo Tofu” (adjusted spice level) and “Kong Pao Chicken.” She also took us to a local night market where we tried “Sugar Painting” and “Stinky Tofu” (which was surprisingly delicious!). The itinerary was never rushed—we had enough time to wander, take photos, and immerse ourselves in the culture. I left Chengdu with a full stomach and a heart full of memories. I’ve already recommended this City Package to my family and friends in Australia—if you love pandas and good food, this is the perfect choice!Collapse

When I saw this company’s Tailor Make Itinerary service had a 4.8-star rating on Trustpilot, with many reviews mentioning “professional handling of plateau issues,” I decided to try a customized itinerary—and this trip completely exceeded my expectations! During the communication phase, the customer service asked in detail about my physical condition, photography needs, and dietary restrictions, and deliberately slowed down the itinerary pace: we first arrived in Chengdu to acclimate to the altitude on the first day, then headed to Kangding on the second day to avoid directly entering high-altitude areas. Guide Xiao Zhang is a native of Western Sichuan; he not only knows every niche viewing route (for example, he took me to Yuzixi Star Camp to capture the stunning Milky Way) but also prepared oxygen tanks, glucose oral liquid, and anti-altitude sickness medicine in advance. When I stopped due to mild headaches in Xinduqiao, he immediately adjusted the day’s itinerary, arranged for me to rest at a local homestay, and even made ginger tea by hand to dispel the cold. During the trip, the food Xiao Zhang recommended was also very distinctive: the yak meat hot pot in Litang was tender and not greasy, and the highland barley cakes with butter tea in Daocheng were fragrant—completely in line with my “non-spicy, light” dietary requirements. The biggest surprise was that knowing I love shooting cultural materials, he specially took me to a local Tibetan village, and after getting the villagers’ consent, I recorded their daily lives—these photos became my most precious works this year. After returning to Germany, I shared this trip on a photography forum with a detailed PRODUCT REVIEW, and many friends asked me for the customization link. If I want to explore western China again in the future, I will definitely choose their customized service again—professional, thoughtful, and full of details, which is exactly what German travelers value most!Collapse

A Ming checked the raft’s safety facilities in advance and walked along with our raft to explain (afraid the children would be bored sitting for too long, he also brought snacks to coax them). During the rafting, he pointed out the small fish in the water and the buffalo on the bank to the children, and told the story of “Guilin’s landscapes are the best under heaven” in Malay, which the children listened to with great interest. Lunch was arranged at a halal farmyard; A Ming confirmed the halal source of the ingredients in advance. The recommended “steamed Li River fish” and “garlic seasonal vegetables” were light and nutritious, and the children ate a lot; after the meal, he also gave the children local small toys (bamboo-woven small animals), and my wife said “it’s more thoughtful than parent-child tours in Malaysia.” In the afternoon, when going to Yangshuo West Street, A Ming avoided crowded roads, took us through small alleys, and recommended a halal-certified sweet osmanthus cake shop—we bought two boxes to take back as souvenirs. After the trip, A Ming also helped us call a shuttle bus to the airport and left only after confirming that the driver knew the hotel location. After returning to Malaysia, I wrote a PRODUCT REVIEW on social media, and many friends said “next time I take my family to Guilin, I will choose this one”—this Day-trip made family travel easy and also made us feel respected as Muslim travelers!Collapse

From start to finish, everything ran like clockwork - flights, trains, transfers, hotels and most importantly, the guided tours in every city we visited. We truly loved every moment and were especially impressed by the knowledgeable and friendly guides who brought each destination to life. This trip opened our eyes to how incredible China is as a tourist destination-rich in culture, history, modern marvels, and warm hospitality. We've not stopped talking about it since! My sincere apologies for this late report- it's only because we've continued travelling to other parts of the world. But without a doubt, China remains one of our favorite highlights, all thanks to your fantastic planning and care, Emily. Highly recommended for anyone considering a journey to China! Best regards Sylvia Joe and group.Collapse

As a foreigner, trying to buy tickets on the official Chinese rail website is nearly impossible due to the requirement for local payment methods and phone numbers. But their website interface is clear, accepts international credit cards, tickets are issued very quickly, and the ticket information along with boarding instructions in Chinese and English are sent to your email. Once I needed to change my plans last minute, their customer service efficiently helped me resolve the issue via WeChat, even on a weekend! The ticket prices are reasonable, and the service fee is transparent. This service solves the biggest transportation hurdle for independent travelers in China, making travel incredibly easy. Will definitely use it again!Collapse

Since the hiking route in Daocheng Yading is relatively difficult, I chose this company’s Tailor Make Itinerary service, hoping to adjust the itinerary according to my physical strength—their professionalism completely exceeded my expectations, and this is definitely a service worth writing a PRODUCT REVIEW to recommend! During customization, I told the customer service that I have hiking experience but was worried about altitude sickness, and they immediately adjusted the route: on the first day after arriving in Daocheng County, they arranged for me to rest in the county with a lower altitude, then went to Shangri-La Town on the second day, and only started the short-distance hike (from Chonggu Monastery to Pearl Sea) on the third day. Guide Akai is a local with 10 years of guiding experience in Western Sichuan; he not only carried a first-aid kit and oxygen tank but also prepared high-calorie chocolates and energy bars to replenish my strength at any time during the hike. When hiking to Luorong Cattle Farm, it suddenly rained lightly; Akai immediately took out a raincoat for me and helped me adjust the waterproof cover of my backpack—he said “in Western Sichuan, the weather changes quickly, so it’s important to prepare in advance.” After the rain stopped, we saw the beautiful scenery of “sunlight on golden mountains”; the distant Xiannairi Snow Mountain was dyed golden by the sun, and this scene made me forget all my tiredness. The homestay where we stayed at night had oxygen supply equipment, and Akai would also come to check my sleep situation to ensure I had no altitude sickness. During the trip, the yak jerky and butter tea recommended by Akai became my favorites; he also took me to a local herdsman’s home to taste fresh yogurt (with honey, sweet and sour). After returning to New Zealand, I shared the photos and itinerary of this trip with friends who love hiking, and they all asked me for the customization link—if you want to explore Daocheng Yading, you must choose this company’s customized service; they will use professionalism and thoughtfulness to let you enjoy the beautiful scenery without any worries!Collapse

What a wonderful family trip this was, and the guide was absolutely fantastic too — the explanations were rich and detailed, and the pace he set while showing us around the various attractions was just perfect. Time zipped by, and everything went exactly as we'd hoped. We picked up a lot of knowledge, and if we get the chance, we'd definitely go on another tour with this company, and we'd be more than happy to have Mike as our guide again.

Chengdu, you stole my heart. This solo trip was everything I dreamed of—and more.
This trip wasn’t just about seeing sights—it was about feeling joy, slow and sweet. Chengdu, thank you for the memories. I’ll be back, with more tea and a bigger smile.

Our family’s custom tour through Beijing, Xi’an, and Guilin was lovely—way better than just flipping through photos.
Even my grumpy teen admitted, “That’s pretty cool.”
Guilin was the relaxer.
Thanks for that.

Our family’s journey through Beijing, Shanghai, and Harbin was pure magic. Beijing’s ancient grandeur—those imperial palaces and the Great Wall—left us in awe, a perfect blend of history and majesty. Shanghai dazzled with its futuristic skyline, where skyscrapers glow like stars, yet the old lanes hold so much charm. Harbin, with its sparkling ice sculptures, felt like a winter fairy tale, especially watching the kids laugh while sliding on ice.
China’s beauty is overwhelming—so vast, so varied, and every corner feels special. None of this would have been as smooth without TST Cross-Border Travel. Their plans fit our family perfectly, no stress, just joy. And Lily, our guide, was wonderful—knowledgeable, patient with the kids, and full of little stories that made each place come alive.
We’ll carry these memories forever. Merci, TST and Lily—you made our China dream come true!

Our little group tour to Beijing, Shanghai, Harbin? Total blast. In Beijing, the kids went nuts over the Great Wall—kept racing up the steps, yelling “Last one’s a rotten egg!” My wife and I just laughed, taking pics like crazy.
Real cool. We’re gonna talk about this for years.
