Temple of Heaven

A world-famous imperial sacrificial complex in China, renowned for its exquisite traditional architecture that symbolizes the ancient Chinese concept of "heaven and earth". It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcasing the profound ritual culture of ancient China.

Qianmen Street

First built in the 1st year of the Zhengtong era of the Ming Dynasty (1436), it was originally named "Official Street". Before the outer city was constructed in the 29th year of the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty (1550), it served as the imperial road for emperors to go out to the Temple of Heaven and the Altar of Mountains and Rivers; after the outer city's construction, it became the main north-south street of the outer city. During the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, it was converted from a dirt road to a stone slab road, and was officially named Qianmen Street in 1965.

The Palace Museum

Located at Beijing's central axis, the Palace Museum (former Forbidden City) was the imperial palace of Ming and Qing dynasties. One of the world's largest and best-preserved ancient wooden buildings, it was built 1406-1420, covering 720,000㎡ with over 9,000 halls, divided into Outer Court (state affairs) and Inner Court (daily life). A 1987 UNESCO World Heritage Site, it now houses over 1.86 million relics as the Palace Museum.

Badaling Great Wall-Deyun Society Crosstalk-Bird's Nest, Water Cube exterior

Badaling Great Wall

As the most famous section of the Great Wall, Badaling is located in Yanqing District, Beijing, about 70 km from the city center. Built in the Ming Dynasty, it’s well-preserved with solid stone and brick structures, and offers sweeping views of rolling mountains. It’s a symbol of ancient Chinese defense engineering and a must-visit for global travelers, attracting millions annually.

Olympic Park

Situated in Chaoyang District, Beijing Olympic Park was the core venue for the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2022 Winter Olympics. It includes landmarks like the "Bird’s Nest" (National Stadium) and the "Water Cube" (National Aquatics Center, now converted into a winter sports venue). A green, multi-functional area, it’s popular for leisure, sports, and sightseeing, showcasing China’s modern sports culture.

Ice Ribbon (National Speed Skating Oval)

The "Ice Ribbon" is a landmark venue of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, located in Olympic Park. Named for its 22 light strips (representing the 22nd Winter Olympics) wrapping the exterior, it’s the world’s first speed skating oval using CO₂ cross-cutting ice-making technology. Now open to the public, it’s a top spot for ice sports and a model of green, low-carbon architecture.

Shichahai

Shichahai is a historic scenic area in Xicheng District, Beijing, consisting of three connected lakes (Qianhai, Houhai, Xihai) and surrounding streets. It’s dotted with ancient gardens, hutongs, and well-preserved quadrangle courtyards. In summer, visitors enjoy boating on the lakes; in winter, they skate on frozen surfaces. It’s also lined with cafes and traditional snack shops, blending old Beijing charm with modern leisure.

Old Beijing Hutongs

Hutongs are narrow, traditional alleyways unique to old Beijing, formed around quadrangle courtyards ("siheyuan") over hundreds of years. Representing Beijing’s folk culture, they feature gray-tiled roofs, red doors, and quiet lanes where locals still live a slow-paced life. Famous hutongs like Nanluoguxiang blend tradition and modernity—with boutique shops and cafes—while others remain untouched, offering a glimpse of Beijing’s past.

Peking University

Located in Haidian District , its campus blends historical buildings  with modern facilities. PKU is a leader in fields like humanities, sciences, and social sciences, and its beautiful grounds—with lakes and ancient trees—make it a popular spot for visitors interested in China’s academic and cultural heritage.

Temple of Heaven

A sacred imperial complex in southern Beijing, the Temple of Heaven was where Qing and Ming dynasty emperors prayed for good harvests. Built in the early 15th century, its key structures include the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests and the Circular Mound Altar.
